With the increased popularity of broadband it is becoming increasing popular for companies and organizations to show case products and services online via video streaming.
The process of streaming video is simple and costs vary depending on how you wish to stream your video.
Briefly there are two methods of streaming, firstly, the progressive download method. With this method the media file downloads onto your PC and after a period begins to play (as you would see on You Tube)
This method of streaming can be achieved on a standard web server and is the cheapest option of the two. The video on the left is streamed via this method utilizing embedded windows media player.
Secondly, the true video streaming method. With this method the file is sent to the client through a constant stream, this also allows the client to view the video almost immediately and have the ability to forward or rewind the video on demand. This method of streaming requires a stand alone streaming server.
